I am a first grade teacher. I would love it if a mom made me a class set of small white board erasers for the small white boards I use. You could make them with felt on one side and then a cute print on the other.

I am a teacher also, and this is exactly what I was going to suggest.

Something like a flannel wipe or other? I think ds's teacher would like this as well but can't picture it for some reason.

Re: teacher gift idea?

I'm a teacher too and I love this idea for a customised hand sanitiser: http://theidearoom.blogspot.com/2009...zer-soaps.html
Or try this site for tonnes of teacher appreciation ideas: http://www.skiptomylou.org/teacher-appreciation-ideas/
But, my absolute favourite idea- a really nice card outlining what I am doing well! The best gift any parent could give. (even better than a fresh coffe when I wasn't expecting it- which one parent would do every now and again instead of giving a holiday gift)

I made mine with blue fleece and decorative cotton on the other side. I put the right sides together, sewed around 3 edges. Then turned them right side out and sewed the last side closed. They are super easy and much easier for me to use with my class rather than using tissues or sharing a couple erasers.

Re: teacher gift idea?

for my DD's teachers I am making a handbag and filling it with stuff!
Like a dip mix (you just have to add mayo and sour cream), homemade hot chocolate mix, hand soap, and a few other things!

Love the white board idea! When I was a teacher I would have loved that!

I love this idea - I am a former teacher too and although I taught "bigs" I used a class set of white boards too. I cut up some of ds1's old receiving blankets and a set like you could make would have been so much nicer.

Might I also suggest an apron? Made of denim or khaki canvas - and with several pockets. I think teachers get really grubby working so closely with kids. In my experience, the younger the kids the grubbier you get. lol

Or, a custom rubber stamp with her name on it - like "Mrs. Jones" because it is a PITB to hand-label all your personal books and materials.

I never got too many bags when I taught. You can even do some applique to spice them up.
