Diaper Swappers

I would like to make a 2 layer carseat poncho for dd for the winter but I'm not sure what inner fabric to use and where to get it. I want it to be as warm as a regular winter coat. I'll have to order the fabric online. Any recs?

not sure what help I would be but I had one made for ODD & YDD and they were made out of 2 layers of fleece. Inner layer was a solid color fleece and the top layer was an embroidered piece of fleece that I ordered from Jo-Ann's online.
