Not a fan of zorb !!!

Hi Ladies,

what's up with Zorb? I've been using it..i've got 5 more yards coming and to be honest. I'm not in love with it. I don't think it's all that absorbant.

Right now i'm making inserts or tri-folds with a center of Zorb. They are all encased with Flannel. They work, "Ok"...not horrible but not great either.

Am I doing something wrong?

I think it gets better the more times you wash it. Idk if flannel is think enough to encase it in honestly.

Re: Not a fan of zorb !!!

I'm finding I don't love it either . DD is always getting compression leaks out of her diapers (even BGs) with these. I have several I made that are zorb sandwiched between two layers of bamboo, and they have been in use for a few months, and they still aren't really that great. I recently made one of two layers of zorb sandwiched b/t 2 layers of bamboo, and STILL got compression leaks! We didn't have this problem when I used good ol' prefolds to stuff my pockets...

Agreed, not a fan of the stuff. I went thro 5 yards of it, then I realized, hey this stuff sucks! Compression leaks to the max! It needs to be sanwiched between A LOT of absorbant layers. The only time it kinda worked for me, when went I did cotton velour/natural sherpa/zorb/natural sherpa/knit In a contour insert

I've not used it in diapers but it works fantastic in the mamacloth I've made for a friend who has PP type flow monthly

We love using it in our diapers I can't remember what it's equivalency is to layers of other fabrics, but I wanna say 2-3 layers of bamboo. It's definetly not gonna be as absorbent as a prefold trifolded as a pocket insert, even with 2 layers of it.

I don't love it either. Haven't had any issues with compression leaks (mine is sandwiched between bamboo fleece), but I don't think it's all that trim for the absorbency, and it seems to make for poofy diapers. It is cheap though, so I guess that would be the main attraction for me.

I love to use it with cotton terry. Then the cotton is there so you don't have compression leaks. And I've done several "experiments" with a bunch of different fabrics, and Zorb has always absorbed the most the fastest.

So, if you don't want to keep those 5 yards, I'm going to be needing some more!!
