Knitting ruffles....instructions and pictures?

I want to put a ruffle on the poncho I am knitting DD, but I want something that will lay nicely. Any suggestions?

Re: Knitting ruffles....instructions and pictures?

are you wanting an over the top really ruffly ruffle or just a slight ruffle?

if you are wanting very ruffly - then kfb every stitch for one row - knit one row - kfb every stitch on 3rd row - then knit every row after that for 4-6 rows.

if you want just a little bit of a ruffle - then kfb every other stitch for one row - then knit 4-6 rows.

Only a little ruffle - like the one I've seen done on longies that just has a nice amount of fluff.

something like this?

if so - do the kfb every other or every 3rd stitch for one row - then knit 4-6 rows.
