Soup & sandwiches for large group

What are your favorite simple soup recipes for a large group?

We will be celebrating my son's 5 yr birthday and will probably have approx. 20 people, I was wanting to serve a couple different soups and maybe some finger sandwiches.

I am always eager to try new things and especially like healthy but hearty meals, and unfortunately this doesn't always work out so well-- and my in laws are "better cooks than everyone else" if you know what I mean and tend to like meat & potatoes!

Thanks!!

I like to serve Taco soup when I have big crowds. There are tons of recipes for it online. I serve it with corn chips, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, etc.

taco soup is good, cause then you can have chips/salsa or even quesadillas to serve with it

For soup suppers up at church we have chicken and corn chowder, veggie beef, chicken noodle, sausage and potato... that's all I can remember right now. I would think just about any hearty soup would be a crowd pleaser. As long as you steer clear from something like chilled cucumber bisque you should be good

I have found baked potato soup to be a big hit, especially with the toppings offered on the side.

Some of our favorites are white chicken chili, chicken corn chowder, baked potato soup, and beef and mushroom barley.

we just went to a gathering that did 2 crockpot soups and assorted rolls with cheeses and deli meats with all the toppings and condiments. It was nice to make your own. just a word of advice dont skimp on the disposable bowls. theres nothing worse then hot soup in your lap.

Re: Soup & sandwiches for large group

I have a great & easy recipe for Chicken & Wild Rice Soup that I make often, and Chili is always a hit... I also make a broth based soup either with turkey or chicken and then barley & lots of veggies a lot, and I recently started getting in to making chicken chili & white chicken chili. If you'd like any of the recipes let me know
