We always smile and say thank you, and if the situation seems appropriate we make small talk. This is not weird at all, just the other person's way of being nice. I'd much rather them compliment me/us on the kids than ask us something weird and nosy like "Are those your grandchildren?"

What do you do when a stranger compliments YOU? You're so CUTE!

Smile and say thank you, then move on. I don't like making small talk with strangers.

That is awesome. I am going to teach DD to say that as well, I hate when strangers try to touch her or tickle her!! right now she just clings to me and says "NOOOO". But they still don't get it.

My nephew had the same problem as your son, he has red curly hair and so many people would comment on it, try to touch it that he started to hate his hair

I always say thank you, and have the child in question say thank you. I am guaranteed at least one compliment when i go out for some reason.

Cadence always gets hair compliments. She has spiral curls all the way to her butt.

Courtney and Kason always get the long eye lash and bright blue eyes compliments.

Kaia gets the every popular Isnt she precious/cute/adorable/beautiful every time. Usually started with an "aawwwww".
