Unhappy What do I do now?

This is yet another cycle where I've had a short LP. The furthest I've made it is 7dpo. I used B6 this cycle. It didn't do a thing. What can I do now?

Re: What do I do now?

I'm not. I have a doc and ob who both told me that until we've been trying for a year they won't even do blood work.

Re: What do I do now?

I wonder if a different ob would allow the blood work sooner....like after 6 months. Does B6 take more than one cycle to work? If you are low on progesterone, that could affect more things than just pregnancy...google the side effects of low progesterone. Print out some information and take it to your doctor. In a straight forward way, let them know you are requesting blood work based off of other symptoms NOT just the fact that you are not pregnant yet. My gyn would definitely have done the bloodwork if I asked her and she would have done it because low progesterone is not healthy even if you are not trying to get pregnant. I can't imagine that with an LP that short that you wouldn't have low progest.

And since you're charting and not just DTD whenever you know exactly what is going on with your body. I would think a different OB or perhaps an RE would take you seriously now.

Re: What do I do now?

agreed. i requested to see a specialist for the same thing. he did do blood work and the whole bit. he's recommendin clomid for me to get an earlier egg, theory being healthier egg= better hormonal communication to the ovaries to not shed the uterine lining.

i decided to do a natural cycle and am trying soy and over-the-counter progesterone this cycle. soy is "nature clomid" and the progesterone is to help the luteal phase stay in tact for an implanted baby. that's what the healthier egg is supposed to do too, but i want to attack that problem from both ends. so i'm there's a super long thread about soy "Soy cycle buddies" or something like that with tons of information about using soy that i recommend you read. i was actually thinking about starting a new thread for anybody using it now (since that one was started quite awhile ago).

Re: What do I do now?

I know there are lots of mamas that are breastfeeding and still get preggo, but a 7 day LP is pretty darn short

Have you cut back at all on bf'ing?

You can buy progesterone cream OTC too to try and help lengthen your LP

I was going to ask the same question with the bf, but I read first, what was written in the other posting .... My second half of the cycle is only 9 days while I bf and goes to 13 days after I stopped. It's frustrating, b/c other moms still get preggo while doing it ... I guess, mother nature means it in a good way with me

Re: What do I do now?

DS only breastfeeds about twice a day now. He sleeps through the night too. I've tried to go less than that and he's just not ready. His nursing sessions maybe last 5 minutes.

I think I'm going to read up on soy and natural progesterone. I can't go to a dr right now because we don't have insurance anymore. DH just finished CNA school to help him get a job while he tries to get into nursing school. He'll hopefully have a job with benefits by the end of January.

Thank you all for the advice. I'll get to researching.
