What do you use under the high chair/booster seat?

to catch messes?

My son takes anything he doesn't want to eat and throws it on the floor. We always try to pick it up right away but we don't have a laminate or tile that is easy to clean. So short of feeding him somewhere other then where we eat, what can I use that would be good?

The dog...

Seriously though we don't use anything just clean up after (we have hard wood in the dining room). You could use a plastic shower curtain though.

The floor We have wood or tile throughout our entire house, so it doesn't really matter if he throws food. Sorry, I know I'm no help!

Our dining room is carpet (and no eat in kitchen) and I have a large plastic mat like you put under an office chair. I used to have a throw rug, but liquids would just go through and it was always bunched up. I've used the mat for a couple of years now and it works great.

We are getting a dog when I am done with chemo (haven't started yet) so that isn't an option yet for us.

The plastic mat idea sounds promising.

If I didn't have vinyl flooring, I'd probably use a shower curtain.

I have a carpet in the dining room too ( apartment) and my 2 younger kids throw their plates on the floor when theyre done whether the plate is empty or not, drives me nuts!
We used to handscrub the carpet with a big brush and carpet cleaner to keep it clean. Now we just shampoo the carpet and it is easier with a machine, no more on the floor scrubbing to keep food stains away. I want to put something under the table, not sure what though.

Our dog Jackson aka "Hoover" My mom has one too but her name is Tucker. They both do a great job when we are at my parents house. My ds dropped some cake on the floor and my quickly got the carpet spray but before she could get to the stain, her dog got it all cleaned up and there wasn't a stain

We have hard wood floors, well, laminate floors in the kitchen. I let the dog go to town and then a few times a week it get either vacuumed or swept up and then mopped.

I use a big bath towel. Then it's easy to shake off the chunks outside and wash it. If I was really smart I'd use one of those huge square beach towels.

It isn't the classiest look for our dining room, but neither is food stains on the rug, you know?
