Re: cosleeping with a newborn and

We are currently co-sleeping with a 2.5 year old and a newborn. We have a queen sized bed and a crib attached to the side. My 2.5 year old sleeps in the crib, with a body pillow. Then baby,me, and dh. My hubby is a heavy sleeper, so I don't put the baby next to him. Once in a while the 2.5 year old sleeps between me and hubby, so she can cuddle up to mama's back. (She also likes "milkie on the top" she still nurses and drapes herself over the top of me when I am nursing the newborn on my side)

I haven't had any trouble with the newborn waking up the toddler. Even when the baby is really crying, the toddler just rolls over and says "baby cry..give milkie to baby." So far that is the most we have had. I guess you just have to try it and see what works.

One word of warning, I never leave the two of them alone. There have been cases of toddlers rolling onto infants and killing them. So even for nap times, I lay down with them both.
