Talking Ok all you custom gurus--help me find sumptin!

Dh has given me the green light to get ONE cool cutesy dipe for DD--he's absolutely shocked that dipes can run in the $40-$80 range, but he won't totally freak out if I get a good deal on a really GOOD dipe that we can get a lot of use out of, ya know?

Here's the deal--our almost-2yo is a Valentine's Day baby, and her nickname since birth has been "Bug". I'm planning on wowing her Grandma when she comes to visit for the girls' birthdays since Grandma is semi-fascinated by the whole cloth diaper world but doesn't really have much of an idea about all the cutesy dipes out there.

I'm planning on making a t-shirt dress if I can find the *right* fabric, and I'd love to have a gorgeous (but not too spensive...I'd like to keep my hubby from having a stroke too early in his life ) showoff diaper for Jamie's birthday. We're celebrating her b-day two weeks late (shh...if you don't tell her, she won't know!), so I have a little time to shop.

Any suggestions on a cute ladybug diaper? I'm not a big fan of side snaps, but maybe with the right dipe I *could* figure it out.

Oh yeah, I've already got a Valentine AIO for her, so Valentine's day is covered!

You may want to get a cover instead, then she can wear it all day.

Gotcha...a cover would be a good choice! Of course, as soon as I typed my post above, my DD runs up to me and says, "POTTY, mama!"

Um....maybe I need to think a little less "diaper" and more along the lines of something that can cover training undies! Cute little bloomers, maybe? Ooh, I could make those I bet, if I had some PUL. I think I've found the fabric I'm going to make her dress out of, it's SO cute--little jumbled up red hearts on black. Now I'm just stumped about what needs to go under it!!!

Re: Ok all you custom gurus--help me find sumptin!

I have this machine applique design http://madebymama.com/store/thumb.as..._-_2_small.jpg

I have one in my limited last chance section, otherwise custom cover would be $13.50 - my customs are always open and I usually ship within three days.

Thanks for looking
Deb
