Re: Is this normal??
Well it sounds like you are still ok (since you haven't sent your item). Why didn't that mama send it with tracking? Is tracking not really an option in Canada? (I ask because I don't know.)
I don't know if you are asking if you should use the trade for something else or not. Well, while I would assume the package is lost at this point, many other mama's can attest to priority mail taking 6 weeks from 1 state away. So it could still be coming, though it might not show up until after the holidays.

Re: Is this normal??
It has taken up to 3 weeks for me to receive a package from Canada (I'm in NC). This time of year, some packages are being held up at customs a bit longer
Tracking from Canada is super expensive |

Re: Is this normal??
Tracking is really expensive from here, actually our cheapest shipping is $5.xx for just a single diaper and goes up from there, its not feasable to get tracking on top of that since we would be paying more than what we sold the item for.
Does the mama know you were holding onto her item until you got yours? What is her feedback like? I would be extremely upset if someone held onto their end of the deal because I was in Canada and didn't tell me, actually if I knew that I would have passed on the trade, because were from Canada doesn't make us scammers and we are taking the exact same chance by trading with you so really where is our protection? And yes 4 weeks to receive an item is normal this time of year, I don't worry until its been 5 weeks since its been shipped. I got something in 2 weeks last week and was totally shocked that it arrived this quickly. Keep in mind that our mail does not move at all on Saturday and Sundays.

Re: Is this normal??
I have bought from Canada and it takes 3-5 weeks. If her FB is good, I'm sure its just the holidays holding things up. But you should probably send yours, I think the wait goes both ways

Re: Is this normal??
I have had items take extremely long from Canada (6+ weeks), I sure hope she knows you held her items. I would be really ticked off if someone waited to ship their 1/2 of the trade w/out telling me upfront.

Re: Is this normal??
Yes, shipping can take a while to get to and from Canada. I agree, it's not very fair to wait until you get your item before sending hers. If you don't trust the other party, simply don't agree to trade. What do I think you should do? Send the other mama her item.

International shipping is S-L-O-W at Christmastime. Most first class packages take 3-5 weeks to arrive. So now you're upset that your part of teh trade hasn't arrived yet, how do you think the other mama will feel when hers will take 3-5 weeks longer now? |

Re: Is this normal??
Okay I simply asked a question everyone don't need to be ganging up on me!
The mama does know I still have mine and I'm simply holding it because I've been screwed before so I alway's wait until I receive the other item's and I ship mine priority with a tracking number! I didn't see the harm in this as a mama asked me to ship mine first because of her previous expeiences so I did, also I did NOT know it could take this long to receive an item from Canada or anywhere else or I would have shipped this sooner. To ship it today would just be dumb esp. cause of Christmas coming right around the corner, so I will be at the mail box first thing SATURDAY mornig as I live right across from the P.O.! Besides I'm not going to scam her. I love this site and I wouldn't do anything to jepordize my name on it. I'm just new at this and just because I was asked to do this before and I did and I agreed because I trust people I'm not going to live my life being paranoid, I take chances! Besides, until I knew that it took this long to ship I was thinking I was going to get scammed (if I was to send mine out) since I had yet to receive something. Thank you to those who helped clear up my question's and for the rest of you I'm not so thankful! TOPIC CLOSED!!
