New to TTC and would love new friends =]

My DH just told me tonight that we could start trying for another baby. I'm so thrilled and really want to do this right. Does anyone have any advice on good vitamins to take when TTC and any other information or helpful links? I have a VERY irregular period! I could get it next month or 5 months from now.. I never know. Is there a good ovulation test that could be used year around? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Also, is there a thread I could join in on with other mamas in the same TTC boat as me!?

Thank you so much in advance!

God bless and Merry Christmas !

welcome to TTC! I take rainbow light vitamins, the once a day vitamin....I really like them

I'm not sure about the other stuff...but it seems like a lot of people use ovulation tests from the dollar store because they are pretty cheap...there might be some you can buy on line in bulk too....I would also recommend, the book Taking Charge of your Fertility (forget author) or a similar book that encourages charting signs of fertility...you may find the fertility friend website (free) helpful too...I just started using it as a great place to keep track of my morning basal body temp!

Good luck and Merry Christmas to you too!

Thank you for the information ! Can I get those vitamins in any drug store?! Or do I need to go to my GYNO first? I read that I should get prenatal vitamins from my GYNO but I have seen them in stores.

I'm probably going to order a bunch of ovulation tests online and see how it goes. What kind of thermometer do you use for that? I remember reading something about that too. I heard it's one of the best ways.

You can get vitamins anywhere. Rainbow light are great and they supply trader joes so if you but the trader joes they are actually rainbow light. I think the same goes for the whole foods brand at this point as well. The big thing is folic acid, which is in there. Your irregular periods could make it tough to catch that egg so definitely join ATTSN (addicted to the stick) and start daily pee tests. Dollar store or online are the cheapest. They are way too expensive at your regular drug stores. You will also want to go buy a basal body thermometer and start charting to figure out ovulation. ($10 at any drug store) For mamas with regular cycles this carting may not be as needed, but for you I would be taking my waking (basal) temp daily and charting. You will want to get the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It tells all. Happy baby making!
