How do you use your dried food besides eating it as is? Any good recipes? Would it be a good idea to buy fruits and vegies when on sale a dry them a vaccume pack them?

I know for sure I want to make the fuit roll ups things and some apple chips. But I unsure of what and how to use dried vegies?

Thanks!

My Mom loves hers so much she asked for a new one for Christmas. She makes jerky, rubbing turkey or beef with teraky sauce, spices or similar, you can look up recipes online for ideas. She also dehydrates veggies to make dry soup mixes, she adds the veggies to powdered milk, boullion and spices and she can make quick soups.

There are lots of basic things like dry fruits, fruit leather, dried herbs (I dry lots of herbs from my garden for the winter). They can be pretty fun once you get some basic recipes for them

I wish I had a dehydrator! They're so much fun. The only thing I can suggest is a google search. Mmm. fruit rollups.

Can't speak for the other mamas, but ground it up in a coffee grinder then made them into little pills.

We make pineapple chips all the time and they don't last for more than a couple hours once they're done. Apple chips were great, too, as were pears.

not to hijack, but i am just curious, I have heard of women eating theirs for the nutrition, as well as the nature (natural) aspect of birthing etc after the birth, but I had never heard of drying it...what are the benifets of drying and consuming the plasenta as pill....serious curious, thats all
What are the "fresh" benifets too, again just curious

your dehydrator probally has recipes in the instruction book, I would start there, then google....

As far as fruit just try out any fruits you like....dehydrat until they are to your liking, some like crisp, some like kindof soft..the wetter the fruit the longer it takes
