Re: Looking for a Mama In Germany (o:

My local Tchibo has Hardback books in Englisch and German with an Englisch CD for 3 Euro. My 3 year old loves it. They are similar to this. Englisch mit Nic

thekacshclan, or any other mamas, I'd be happy to send you one for shipping and purchase price.

I have many friends, and even a sister-in-law that are from Germany. They have all moved to Canada in the past 5-10 years, and I know they miss a lot of things too! But... they are all amazing cooks and bakers and have learned to make almost everything themselves. So I get treated every once in a while

thanks to trauemwasschones & queenginseng - i usually am looking for trinkets in german, or clothes with german on them... and german magazins... that kind of thing. just the stuff i can never find here. if you happen to come across something like that, i would LOVE to hear about it! anything you find that seems to be something not available in america! thanks mamas... it makes me smile to think i have at least the potential to get some german things... seeing as amazon.de wont ship most things i want to the states!

Do you have an Amazon or similar wish list so I can see what you like? What size clothes are you looking for and I can keep my eyes open for that.

You can have Amazon.de items shipped to me and I can ship them to you.

Hi there! I'm also an Ami in Deutschland for the time being. We'll be moving back when my hubby finishes his PhD, but in the meantime I can ship stuff if need be. I can't think of much I'd want to trade for, other than a few fabrics that I'd hate to pay extra taxes on.

And I don't really use DS much, but you're still welcome to message me. I'll probably also be hopping on here more often once we know where the heck we'll be living and I need some cool new mama contacts.

Re: Looking for a Mama In Germany (o:

I'm from Cologne and living here again for now, so I'm sure I could find a bunch of stuff in the city...
My husband is from Chicago and we met in New Zealand, so we haven't really decided where we want to end up yet...
Nice to see some Mamas from around here!

Re: Looking for a Mama In Germany (o:

hey mamas! sorry, i havent been catching up!!! thanks to all of you mamas, i get some support! like i said, DH thinks im nuts, and its pretty difficult to find german speaking people anywhere around here!!!
i miss dumb things... like, magazines (anything printed in german, cant get it here!) kinderschokolade... im always looking to get the kids german DVDs, benjamin blümchen, cute clothes... C&A, S.Oliver... or anything for the kiddos with german sayings on them(sizes: DS is 92+ DD is 110+) and really most other things you can find there, that you cant find here... packaged foods... etc...
none of these things have to be purchased new, if you happen to have anything already, that would be awsome as well! i dont have too much to spend, but i really have a heart-ache for all of the things i miss....
thanks mamas!
big to all who have said they are willing to help!

Re: Looking for a Mama In Germany (o:

Is your DVD player region-free?

I saw some board books and CDs (Vogel Hochzeit and Struwelpeter) for about 4 Euro each. I often see German/English books for about 4 Euro as well. Just let me know if you are interested.

Oh man, I'd like to have a copy of der Stuwwelpeter myself. Nothing like scaring your young child into submission.
