Using opks with fmu

I wasn't going to use opks but I am on cycle day 27 with no ovulation and my cf has went from fertile to not fertile a few days ago and I am regretting that right now. I am going to start using them again but I am nursing and prone to kidney stones so I don't want to go a few hours between drinking during the day. I was thinking of testing with fmu since I went a few hours between drinking and it is the most concentrated. Will I miss the surge using fmu? I know it says to test in the afternoon. Does anyone else use fmu and catch the surge?

the day of the surge my first positive is around 12 but i will still get a + with fmu the next day. You usually surge in the am and it shows up in urine that afternoon.

Re: Using opks with fmu

i test in the evenings and i've never kept myself from drinking for them (i drink lots of water all day) - never been an issue. fmu is usually not best for the opks. i'd go for later and not worry about water intake and see how that goes (or do both the fmu and the evening test for a little self-experiment )
