When to test?
This is my first cycle off the minipill and I am currently nursing my 14 month old who nurses hourly still. I think I am on day 32 of my cycle but I didn't chart so I am lost on what is going on this month. I have have pp AF since my lo was 2 months old and they have been regular. I am late but when I tested 3 days ago it was BFN
I had some weird spotting on the 9th which I assumed was AF but it came with some CM so is it possible I ovulated really late?? I am going nuts because I want to test again but I am assuming more disappointment. What to do??

Re: When to test?
My guess is the BC pills were what was causing you to have your period each month and you are still annovulatory from nursing.
But when in doubt, test!

Re: When to test?
I would guess that too but I don't think that the minipill operates in the same way. I think only the normal pill can make you have a period. Both pregnancies I got AF back right away. I am trying to convince myself that I may be wasting the test in case the spotting was late ovulation, in that case I would only be 5 dpo.
That would be 2ww......I can't stand the waiting. Or implantation bleeding, I hope.

Re: When to test?
If I remember correctly the mini-pill is just smaller doses of the same hormones so it could still effect your cycle in combination with you nursing regularly.

Re: When to test?
My doctor said you don't get anything very accurate until 1-2 weeks after you miss AF - you might get a BFP before then, but if there's a BFN it's more like a "Big Fat Not Sure".
If you have a Dollar Tree store around you, they've got pregnancy tests for $1 that work just as well as the expensive brand names. Otherwise do a search on Amazon - you can find them really cheap there in bulk, so you can take one every day and not blow $15 each! Good luck! |
