I'm out. I bought ice cream last night (although I AM pregnant, so isn't that technically a need? )

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

I'm out thanks to that Chico Bag thread!!!

Oh, and I bought myself a swimsuit on eBay at a huge savings. But I don't have one, so that was kind of a need.

It's okay. Thanks to the Sell Stuff Challenge I am still up by quite a lot.

Plus, because of this thread I have not gone out and bought sposies for DS. He is in cloth and undies. He is okay at peeing in the potty, but poo in undies is soooo not fun!

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

I'm going to join for the rest of the month, since I've already topped out our monthly budget in all categories except gas. I have $20 cash or so in my wallet to pay for bread and milk, but we shouldn't need much else. February 1st I might go nuts I reached my max fast buying 20 V8 fusion juice on sale and with coupons (we go thru about 2 jugs in 3 days) and we went out to eat too many times with friends around new years. Good thing I have going for me - DH is leaving today for Germany on a company trip until the end of the month, so almost all of his spending will be their money and he won't need gas! This is going to take AAAAAALLLLLLL the willpower I have, but I'm glad I'm not alone!

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

I'm lucky I found a $20 walmart gc in the back of my wallet (the kids got it for xmas but I "bought" it from them by putting the $20 in their college funds). Between that gc (price matching from other stores) and my CVS gc, I should be able to get by w/o spending the last $21 in my wallet. The other day I got $9 in cash off my CVS gc doing a return, so that was a bonus and of course I spent $8 of it other places already ($2 getting ice cream cones to treat the kids one day and $6 at Hyvee on Kraft cheese that earned me a $5 cat to spend this month). I plan to stop at the consignment stores to check if I have any money in my accounts there and I am not allowing myself to buy anything at WAGS (want to do the $20 in tostitos and salsa) until I have enough RRs from doing the glucose meter deals this month. I'm getting pretty creative here!

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

So last week I didn't make it. I bought 2 pair of shoes, I really just NEEDED one, but I couldn't pass up the deal because I wanted to replace my brown shoes also (they are too tight now). And since I had already blown it we went out on our first baby free date since Ethan was born in August.

Anyhow, this week I bought DH a birthday present, but it is a wetstone for our knives, I don't know if that is a need or not, but our knives really needed some help. I cant stand to use dull knives.

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

I'm going to give this a try again.

I *need* to spend:
$97.50 to pick up my serger from the repair shop
$15 in gas so I can get to the repair shop, my IMA meeting, and my prenatal appointment
$10 fee for my IMA (Institution of Management Accountants) meeting, which includes 2 CPE credits
Misc. for shipping of orders

That's it. I'm not spending anymore!

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

I've been doing pretty good I think ... But I seem to buy things and not remember it .. so maybe I'm NOT doing to well. I think I need to keep a notepad in my car and write down EVERY unnecessary purchase so I can SEE how naughty I am. *sigh*
So this is what I've done:
*Sunday night we took my cousin out for her 21st birthday, spent $50 on 3 of us.
*Went to breakfast on Monday $30
*paid for shipping on 2 packages of diapers (I traded, though, so technically I didn't spend any $$)
*went to my dad's basketball game last night $12 + concessions $5 so ... $17

I'm not leaving the house today ... so I think I'm safe. Although if AF doesn't show up today I may need to run and get a couple tests.
I think I have a problem. I seem to justify ANYTHING I *want* into a *need*
Grrr. At least I'm more aware of this problem, thanks to this thread

Wow, I wasn't playing, but now I am. All I've bought in January not technically needed:
$7.50 on a shirt and pants for ds to wear next xmas at old navy clearance
$3.80 at Khol's on a carter's outfit for ds#2 to get a free $10 gift card to use next week on summer clothes he'll need.

So I'm doing well! But the month is going sloooooow.........

Re: GOAL: Go until next Sunday without spending? Join us!!!

Ok I am out, but heres what I got w/ q's! I can't remember if I already posted this? So I am doing it again! I spent $17.97 @ TRU

2 pairs of sneakers (DS2 and DS3!)
4 bottles of 7th gen laundry detergent
3 tubes of Kiss My Face tooth paste
4 bottles KMF shampoo/conditioner
2 bottles huggies pump body wash
2 boxes 7th generation dishwasher packets
2 baby ganic laundry wash
1 package 7th gen wipes
1-12 pack 7th gen toilet paper
2- liquid dish soap 7th gen
25 boxes buddy bars

Also spent $24 on some cloth pads, I don't have enough and just converted last cycle, 2nd day I was using disposables because I was out the 1st day..

Spent $0 @ Target
1 shirt
1 pregnancy test
3 packets Tide travel size
4 boxes buddy bars
1 bottle herbal essences shampoo

$0.13 @ McD's

good news, still haven't filled the gas tank since Dec. 12th!!! I am thinking of this thread when I buy!! So thats why I try to get as MUCH AS POSSIBLE w/ q's when I am buying to justify why I am spending ANYTHING! LOL! Didn't NEED any of what I got, but I will and I try to get AS ORGANIC/NATURAL as possible. Which is COMPLETELY possible if you shop in advance and on sale. So I have what i WILL need later!! The shoes were a splurge, since the boys NEVER get new shoes and TRU was $7.80 B1G1 $0.99 so I found cute matching ones! no handme downs from DS1 for them fro a little bit!
