Avent nipple size question

My DS is 5.5 weeks old, and I am going back to work full time next week. My DH will be Mr. Mommy for our DS. Although he is our third child, I can't quite remember...

Should I keep using Avent #1 (newborn) nipple? Or, should I start using #2 (1 mo+)? If so (on starting #2), when should I start?

DS is taking the bottles okay (I introduce the bottle when he was a little over 3 weeks old), and with #2 nipple, sometimes it seems it flows too fast, but at the same time, with #1 nipple, it seems it's too slow when he is not too hungry.

I just want to avoid him becoming lazy (if faster flow nipples are used) on the breast. So far, I'd say he is really good at breastfeeding. He weighed 13.6 pounds today (at 5.5 weeks, which is a little over 5 pounds gain since birth).

Any suggestions?

Re: Avent nipple size question

As for me I like the slowest for a baby who is still breastfeeding.

Re: Avent nipple size question

Thank you. I think I'll stick to #1 unless otherwise while he is still breastfed, too.
