Need a good broccoli-cheese soup recipe

preferably something without processed cheese and tons of canned soup.

I have a great cheese soup recipe, but . . . it's made with Velveeta. You can add ham, cauliflower, broccoli, potatoes, etc. LMK if you want the recipe and I'll post it.

I would like to find a good one without using Velveeta, but I haven't looked yet, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I'll have to look, but I think you could make a roux w/ flour and butter, then add milk/broth/a little white wine, bring to a boil to thicken, and add cheese/broccoli? Not sure how this would turn out w/ cheese added, but I do creamed chicken over biscuits this way, and the sauce is great!
