Re: Where have all the young girls gone?

I Know I have a 5 year old daughter and by no means does she want to dress like that but she's not in school yet either... so possibly when she goes to school then she may want to becuase " her little freinds" have that outfit.. we shop at Gymboree, Old Navy, some things at The Childrens Place.. ( I can find the basics there ) , but girls clothes at even Wal-Mart are a little hooched up.. with the mary-kate and now they have an unfabulous line....

I won't be dressing my girls like that either. I find it horrifying, actually, some of the crap that's out there. I want them to be little as long as possible.

I agree completely. We let our girls wear whatever they want as long as it is appropriate. Of course, that is different for everyone. I made my girl a sundress and it was backless. My friend commented that she wouldn't let her DD wear a backless dress. She made it sound like a pleather stripping outfit or something.

AMEN! Whatever happened to the Limited Too! It's like Claire's but with clothes. I am not looking forward to dressing my daughter when she gets to that stage.

I'm glad we have a little boy too. I can't believe the styles anymore, for little and older girls. It's disgusting! Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

It's AWFUL! DD's God father said he recently heard the term prosti-tot. I thought that summed it up well. I'll stick with Hanna Andersson, some baby Gap/Old Navy and Zutano for sure. Yikes!

ahh! that's awful! it really makes me sick. it may just be me but usually if i see a little girl out dressed that way her mama looks similar. not to say us mamas can't be sexy, but little eyes are watching and wanting to imitate. i def don't want to draw attention to parts of my dd that aren't appropriate, as if child molester's need any further enticement.
