Re: Homemade wipes solution with no oil???

I used to put mine in a spray bottle but found its sooo much easier to put some water in a wipe box and get all my wipes wet prior to using because then I dont have to fiddle with teh spray ...it help so much to start doing this and it usually only takes me like 1-2 days to go throw a whole box of cloth wipes and then I just throw in with the diapers!!

Oh but I have used with great success is a little bit of baby wash with water in my wipes to me it worked just as great as any other wash !!

I just think that the spray bottle, especially in the summer, is less breeding grounds for bacteria. I mean, 90+ degrees in a little, moist box seems like prime conditions!

1 chamomile tea bag
1 tsp. honey
1 c. boiling water
Has anyone tried this?? Sounds like something I would drink no put on my DDs bum. lol Or any other ideas? TIA!
I use chamomile tea solution when DS is teething. He gets terrible rashes and this helps sooth it!

yeah--I would think the soothing of properties would work great on the bum for soothing the skin. Ive heard of mommas who wash their face with honey for softness so Im thinking this might be a good combo. I tried it earlier, so far, so good!

I would be wary of honey. That much sugar could feed yeast, and I am a freak about the botolusim (sp) possiblity with honey and infants.

Sorry to be a downer.

Sorry to hijack here, but I didn't know that a wipe used with a solution containing oil shouldn't go into the diaper wash???

Here are a few links that I have, but the recipes all seem to have some type of oils in them:

Re: Homemade wipes solution with no oil???

well--a friend of mine had EOs in her pail power and that caused them to repel. I would think that after awhile of using EOs in your wipes and washing them with your dipes, you would have the same problem. I hate to strip diapers so I'm trying to avoid a problem. I have also read that TTO should not be used on babies and toddlers. Only chamomile EO and lavender are ok. Who knows?

Im not saying NOT to use EOs....I'm just saying that I prefer not to since I want to try to eliminate problems. Besides, really all the EOs do is add a scent, right?!

mama calm down I wasnt saying YOU I was telling the other mama I quoted that it was OK to use TTO in her wipes I NEVER said you said it shouldnt be used...its okay I understand you are trying to stop a problem before it starts but I was basically telling the other mama that its a problem to diffferent people and differetn washing routines....so if its working for her than keep it ...Thats all im saying
