I need a kid friendly broccoli and asparagus recipe

Anyone know of a good recipe? I mostly steam the veggies and then throw on some My House Salt. Stuff I can get locally. I do have a recipe for asparagus but wouldn't mind something different. I have 3 kids that will be eating the broccoli and asparagus.

If I'm in a big hurry to get dinner started (I usually do DSD's homework with her while food simmers) then I'll brown some cubed chicken breast in some olive oil (season however you like). After the chicken has browned add your choice of brown rice or barley and the corresponding amount of water to the same pot. Both of these take about 45 minutes to cook so I usually let it go for about 35-40 minutes (which gives you enough time to chop your veggies). About 5 to 10 minutes before the rice is done add your veggies and season to taste. You can also add onions while cooking the chicken.

This usually works great for me since it's all in 1 pot and it's easier to clean. DSD loves this since the veggies stay green, the chicken is very tender, and she can add a little bit of cheese if she likes.

I serve asparagus with mayo to dip and broccoli with terriyaki or cheese or ranch, ketchup whatever it takes to get it down.

How about a quiche, a pizza, or in some crepes with cheese sauce?

When I was a kid, I loved steamed broccoli florettes dipped in regular, prepared-from-mix brown gravy (more or less fat-free in powder form, right?) Gravy makes everything better
