Anyone have the Ikea Kura bed?

I am going to be getting it for my son in a couple of months (honestly he is ready now but waiting for a few reasons).

Anyway I was wondering how having the shallow mattress is hard to find fitted sheets for.

Anyone have any tips? Right now I have quick zip sheets for his crib and I love them, however they are only good for 7 inch mattress' and not the 5.125 inch ones that are needed for that bed.

Thank you for your help!

BTW for the links to what I am talking about here Kura bed, Quick zip sheets.

Re: Anyone have the Ikea Kura bed?

On the QuickZip starter set info it says "Fits mattresses 52" x 27" and 4.5" to 7" thick standard crib and toddler bed mattresses." so I think they *should* fit the 5.125" mattress. Unless your sheets are specifically 7" only, then I have no idea!

I don't have the bed, it looks neat though. If regular fitted sheets don't work for it, you could get some of those clips w/ elastic that pull the sheet tight underneath. I don't know what they're called, though, so I don't know if that's much help.

I was planning to get that for my son too...I thought you could use a regular twin mattress with it?? If not that's a bummer...I liked how this bed is not as high as traditional bunkbeds.

http://www.cloudsandstars.com/twinstarterset.aspx The crib sheets can work with a thiner mattress but not the twin size quick zip.

I think this would work on the lower setting but I would be afraid of the guard rail in the higher "loft" bed setting.

Re: Anyone have the Ikea Kura bed?

DS1 & DD have it. We use a regular mattress and have no issues. DS1 has more than enough room on the top. DD sleeps up there with him a lot too. I haven't had the chance to go get the Ikea Mattress and after using it for a few weeks I don't plan on it now.
