It will remove the majority of the ads. You can read more about becoming a Site Supporter by going into your User CP (link near top right of screen) and scrolling down to Paid Subscriptions (on the left).

according to this poll, even if you are a site supporter, there is a chance you will still get the virus pop up. I use Mozilla Firefox to browse, with adblock plus. it's a free download. I see no ads, and haven't had any virus issues. If I come here with another browser, it tells me to go back, this site will harm my computer.

I just became a site supporter for this reason. Got the message at least 6 times earlier today, but since I became a site supporter it hasn't happened. To tell you the truth...I am a little annoyed that this continues to happen even after things get sent to the tech people. I REALLY hope it doesn't happen to me again now that I am paying to be on the site.

I don't know what to do. I stayed away from DS for several months, got a new laptop that has good virus protection on it and the first time I come on to DS I get popups trying to download on my computer. It's frustrating. And it only happens when I am on this site.

I do not think we should have to pay so we do not get viruses browsing ds, that seems silly to me, it should be a safe site for everyone, even those who can not afford to be site supporters, right???

adblock plus with firefox...ut is free and no issues since i got it!!!!!

Being a Site Supporter will not necessarily stop them. I have been a SS for about a year and a DS virus wiped out my laptop last month.
