Re: stupid question? Seller asks Buyer to cover PP fees?

i think what the pp is trying to say is that you are upfront with asking for fees in your post. your buyer didnt pm you and you agree to the sale but then say "oh but can you cover me fees? so add $X"

when you sell ds is asking you to factor any and all fees into your price prior to posting. right now i had the unfortunate experience of the above. and i am searching for the fee calculator. its confusing

No...man I'm just confusing everyone!

I don't ask for fees *at all*. I don't even consider them when price my items. I only consider the item price plus the shipping cost. I just eat the cost of any pp fee.

Actual "fees" need to be either "eaten" by the seller or included in the asking price. HOWEVER this does not pertain to credit card fees.

Not everyone likes taking credit cards and those that due often ask that the "extra bite" in fees that a credit card transaction will require be "eaten" by the one who wishes to use the credit card (the buyer)

hope that just made sense

Re: stupid question? Seller asks Buyer to cover PP fees?

ok....i was just about to make a thread about this!!!!
so,am i correct that it's OK to ask for pp fees IF they choose the option to use crdit/debit card then??
Some ppl are getting hasty about this??!!I'm nOT asking for regular pp fees JUST if they use credit/debit....Am i wrong?

i'm putting the price, then "you pay pp fees IF you choose credit/debit card option".

i just lost a sell for this???

The seller is not supposed to ask for fees from the potential buyer at all.You can work it into the listing price but can not post, paypal fees are added into the price. Just add them into the cost yourself and accept the payment.

I thought fees were the same now, whether funded or credit?

Why would this not pertain to Credit Card Fees? Aren't the fees for Credit Cards the exact same fees as everyone else pays?

Re: stupid question? Seller asks Buyer to cover PP fees?

I need to check into this. I know my account charges more if a credit card is used which is one reason I like funded payapl (but take either LOL!)

I'll do some checking in with paypal to get a breakdown on all this
