evening primrose question
At my 37 week appointment my midwife told me I could start inserting 1 EPO tablet vaginally before bed every night. Today I saw a different midwife and she told me I could safetly insert 6 at a time and take several orally as well. Has anyone taken/inserted this many? Also wondering- so I don't have to deal with the sticky leakage of it can I just wear a tampon after I put them in? Thanks for any advice!

Re: evening primrose question
Ummm I think it would be pretty hard to insert 6 at a time
. I would just insert one at a time. It takes a while for it to dissolve anyways. If you'd like you can do it a couple times a day but it'd probably be uncomfortable trying to shove 6 in there and I doubt they'd stay in anyways. I would just do one at a time. And NO, no tampons during pregnancy. You can use a pantiliner to keep it off of your undies.

Re: evening primrose question
When I used them with my last pg, I inserted 1 at night before bed (less leaking) and I'd take 1 orally in the mornings. Good luck!!

Re: evening primrose question
I didn't like the idea of inserting any so I took them orally only when I was pregnant with my DD. I took 2 in the morning, 2 in the early afternoon, and 2 at bedtime.

Re: evening primrose question
You can also open the capsules and just use the oil internally as sometimes they don't dissolve.....

Re: evening primrose question
My midwives had me start with 500 mg at 37 weeks and increase by 500 mg each week. I was inserting 3 500 mg gel caps by the time I gave birth and it was no big deal. Taking them by mouth doesn't help with the cervical ripening, although it is supposed to help establish your milk supply.

Re: evening primrose question
My doc recommended 3 orally in the morning and 3 vaginally in the evening. I just wear a panty liner. Also, poke a little hole with a pin or something in the ones you insert vaginally...helps them dissolve faster.
