Can I use baby powder with CD's?

I've just started DS on cloth diapering at 2 yrs old - my past experience with CDing was six years ago with DD. Can I safely use baby powder with cloth? We usually use Baby Gold Bond's or Johnson's medicated. Both contain zinc oxide and cornstarch. Will they damage the dipes?

I use the Johnsons medicated all the time. No problems here.

Zinc oxide can stain, but regular powder and cornstarch should be fine, imo.

Re: Can I use baby powder with CD's?

Zinc Oxide can build up on synthetic stuff such as the stay dry liner of pockets, but I freely use J&J's cornstarch with my fitteds and prefolds. You can even get away with most diaper creams (except for Original Desitin - has cod liver oil, that will make your dipes smell fishy) on natural fiber diapers as it washes out easily. It's all the synthetics used nowadays that has made diaper creams and powders the "enemy"... as many of the ingredients are harder to wash out of synthetics.
