Ummm... Awkward...
So most of DSs dipes have a dark color inner and he only wears dipes overnight. The past few mornings I've been noticing a white residue right about where his penis is. He's only 2, but could it be what I'm thinking it might be??
I just didn't know if a 2yo could do that (ejactulate) yet or not? He's been having issues with his penis lately anyways and we're taking him to a pedi. urologist on Friday, but this just really caught me off guard. At first I thought maybe he got into rash cream and tried putting it on himself, but then I got kinda gross and sniffed it and there was no smell of the cream and we don't even keep the cream in his room. This just has me wondering. TIA. Sorry to ask such a weird question....

Re: Ummm... Awkward...
both of my boys get that. To me I just chalk it up to something that happens down there. I asked the ped. and she said it was normal, kind of like how girls will have a white discharge at times.

Re: Ummm... Awkward...
It's probably just smegma, which is normal and healthy. Girls have it too.

But it's alot... I've seen little white discharge in both DDs before but not this much. It's at least the size of a quarter...

Re: Ummm... Awkward...
Is he circumcised? It probably is smegma. Young boys don't have ejaculate until they are about 10 years old (during puberty)

Re: Ummm... Awkward...
Sometimes there can be a lot. If he's intact, smegma can collect under the foreskin in little balls called "pearls" and sometimes they break down slowly and sometimes they just get passed all at once. Unless there's a foul odor, lots of pain, his penis is bright red, and/or hot to the touch I wouldn't even worry.
Smegma is just what collects when dead skin sloths off and the body has to get rid of it one way or another. In circ'ed boys it doesn't really have anywhere to collect (unless they are very loosely circ'ed) so it's not as noticeable and it's gone before you even know it's there. But it intact boys and girls it collects and you can see it, sometimes in large amounts. It's not dirty either, so don't worry about trying to clean it. Smegma is greek for soap actually.
