I need to know what I can put on my tilapia before I stick it in the oven to make it tasty. Keep in mind this is part of my low carb diet

hmm...not sure if this will go with you diet or not but parmesan encrusted in yummy and we also do lemon pepper...which is great too! I LOVE TILAPIA!

I always season w/ lemon pepper, garlic & a little salt & broil it

I use Durkee citrus grill seasoning and a tiny bit of butter- but I don't think that is diet friendly.

I love tilapia!
I cook it a few ways but when dieting I use salt free lemon pepper seasoning and squeeze a little lemon juice over the top. Then broil. Yummy!

One more idea for you:

I don't know if you are eating rice or not (I don't like going completely with out carbs so I eat a little rice) but this is really good.

1 1/2 c. hot no salt added chicken broth
1/2 c. uncooked reg. rice
1/4 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
Paprika (optional)
1 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1 lb. unbreaded fish fillets
1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In an 8 x 12 inch baking dish, combine hot broth, uncooked rice, and seasonings. Bake, covered, for 10 minutes. Top with broccoli and the Parmesan cheese. Place fish fillets diagonally down center of dish; sprinkle with paprika. Bake, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes. Loosen rice by carefully stirring with a fork. Top fish with Cheddar; baked, uncovered, for 3 minutes.

My friend gave me a great Tilapia recipe that is very tasty and super easy!

Take a little bit of mayo and brush it on the fillet with a basting/pastry brush. Just enough to thinly coat it, not a lot, on both sides. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Then coat it in Panko breadcrumbs on both sides and place on a non-stick or foil lined baking sheet. Bake on 400 for about 6-8 mins. They should just start to get golden around the edges. Super yummy!!!

I do this, but instead of mayo, I use mustard.


I like to brush mustard or lemon juice on (it gets rid of the super fishy taste). I let that set for a few mins while i mix up my dray batter.

I use flour, salt, pepper, and I really like Essence of Emeril but if I dont have that, then I use lemon herb or italian seasonings and then pan fry in just enough olive oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
