How to strip microfiber?

I mostly use flats to stuff my pocket diapers, but occasionally I use microfiber inserts so I don't have to fold before I stuff. I was just noticing that some of the inserts are really stinky after DD pees in them (I got them used a while back but haven't used them much). What's the best way to strip microfiber? So far I put clean inserts in the washer with some bleach (maybe half a cup? maybe a bit more?) and a couple tablespoons of Planet detergent. I did a warm/warm cycle, and have done two extra rinses with cold water. Should this solve the problem or will I need to do something else?

Boil them?
Dawn?
Vinegar?

I've never dealt with mf stink before, what do I do??

Re: How to strip microfiber?

I had some problems with stink for the FSOT a few weeks ago. I did a soak in rockin green. Then I did at least 4 hot washes before I saw no bubbles in the rinse cycle. (I have a FL though.) Then I did my regular wash routine with my eco's and 1/2c bleach and that killed the problem. Stink is so . Good luck Mama!

I would just wash the inserts with regular old chlorine bleach and rinse them twice. A lot quicker and easier and more effective than any other stews or potions.

Re: How to strip microfiber?

Do a search on "OxiVin -- WOWSA"... I pulled it up using just the Wowsa. It works GREAT on the MF inserts!!!!

Re: How to strip microfiber?

I boiled mine with a squirt of Dawn for 10min, then in clean water for another 10min. Then I threw them in the washer for a spin. Works for me!
