Traveling to Columbus Ohio, need ideas of near by things 2 do!

I'm going to visit my little sister (22) at capital university the first week in march. And I want to be the big "FUN" sister (25) and do something crazy and remeberable.
She's In bexley. what can we do thats roughly with in 1 hour any which way from there. Plus we are on a tight budget shes in school and I'm a SAHM... But will splurge for the right thing.

Any thoughts are welcome Please!

Well, it's not "crazy" but Old Man's Cave at Hocking Hills is nice--and FREE! It's about an hour outside of Columbus.
Let's see...fun things to do in Columbus...watch paint dry? haha!

The short north area has the gallery hop about once a month or so (aka: "classy" barhopping). The arena district is also a fun place to hang out and I'm kind of "hockey-stupid" (so this may be out of season), but you could catch a bluejackets game. Or, the north market, is a fun place to shop around (local wares, hippie stuff, etc.) and they have some amazing food/restaurants there. If you are bringing along the kids, definitely take a trip to COSI...an interactive science museum equally entertaining for adults (but closed Mon. and Tues.). Easton is also an outdoor-ish mall and there is always a lot going on there and some nice shopping and restaurants. Hope that helps!

Oh ya, Gallery Hop! It's on the first Saturday of every month, so maybe you'll be here for it.
I would have suggested COSI, but didn't know if you were with or without kids!
If you hit the North Market, go have a cup of organic free-trade coffee at A Touch of Earth--my son works there!

I do, too, 'cause me son brings bags of it home! Yea, free organic fair-trade coffee! Finally, having kids starts to pay off!

I live within a few minutes of Bexley and there are a few thrift stores around Bexley. There's one off Alum Creek Dr. and another one on Broad St. Actually if you do a google search, you will find quite a few.

If you have down time and just want to get out of the house, the Bexley Public Library is really nice and there's a Cup O' Joe right across the street. Bexley is a nice walking area with lots of families! Love it!
