I have a question..

Okay I am due towards the end of Nov. A few weeks ago I was spotting & b/c of my age I went in for labs to make sure they where - are where they needed to be.
My progesterone was 28 & my hcg was 61,316 at 7 weeks 1 day gestation on a Wednesday. I was supposed to go back for a repeat lab on Friday but my OB cancelled it and set up a sono. I had the sono she couldn't find the source of where or why I was bleeding baby's heart beat was good. The tech didn't spend much time looking at all.

So my questions are, are those numbers high for a singleton?
Cause presumably by Friday if they double they would be 122,632.?.
So could I be having twins & they just missed it?
Or are those #'s normal I have been googling but I can't seem to make up my mind b/c I never got a second lab! I really wish I had then I would know how high they went !!!...

Sorry I wasn't sure where to post this question.

With my now almost 8 year old my quant was 100,000 at 7 weeks. They said it was a little high but there was just one baby in there. I think I did O earlier rather than later though.

Re: I have a question..

Okay, see that is why I was asking... some sites say high #'s means 2 others say it doesn't matter. Thank you for posting

Numbers dint mean anything unless you have two numbers to look at. Those numbers don't seem high for a single. Everyone's numbers can be everywhere on the spectrum. That's why they suggest don't compare to other people's.

Thank you for your reply, I really wish I did have a repeat to see how high they would be at now. It didn't answer any of my questions other than my hormones are good & baby seems to be viable.
The nurse who called me said I was definitely pregnant & shouldn't worry. I have been wondering about all this for the last few weeks. I guess I just over think some things.

That's not exactly true. One number can tell you if your hcg fits with the weeks pregnant you think you are. One number can also tell the doctors what they should be able to see on ultrasound about when. As far as if your pregnancy is viable and growing, no, one number will not tell you that.

Re: I have a question..

Also after your hcg gets over 10,000 it doesn't necessarily double every 48 hours.
