Carseat Question..

Alright.. since it's really only a matter of time before miranda hits the weight limit on hers (I think she's around 35 lbs and it only goes to 40) I'm thinking we'll buy a new one when we get the tax return.

Now.. NOT thinking about Britax carseats.. which ones would you reccomend?I have nothing against the Britax, but they are super Expendsive and I can't see spending that much when they all go though the same safety standards. (however, If i were to get a Britax, I know which one I'd get. lol)

I'm thinking of getting one that goes from a toddlerseat to a booster (so I don't have to buy anymore seats for this kid!)

Anyone got any suggestions??

Thanks!!

Re: Carseat Question..

Here is a list of all the seats that I know of that will harness over 40 lbs.

-Graco Safe Seat 2 (newest models-- harnesses to 50 lbs

-Fisher Price Safe Voyage Deluxe - harnesses to 55 lbs.

-Safeguard Go- harnesses to 60 lbs. converts to booster

-Cosco APEX - harness to 65 lbs. (You have to have headrests to use this one) converts to a booster

-Sunshine Kids Radian 65- harnesses to 65 lbs.

-Britax Marathon/Boulevard/Decathalon- harness to 65 lbs.

-Sunshine Kids Radian 80 - harnesses to 80 lbs

-Britax Regent- harnesses to 80lbs.

If you have headrests, I would say go with the Safety 1st Apex. You can keep her harnessed longer, then when you feel she is ready/mature enough for a booster, it converts to a booster. It runs around a $100, so definately cheaper than Britax.

Re: Carseat Question..

I'm not too fond of the Apex. The head restraint seems pretty useless. Check reviews at http://www.car-seat.org

The Go or the Radian would be my pick if you don't want the $$$ of a Britax.

Check harness heights, what's often outgrowed b4 weight at http://www.carseatdata.org.

Email me if you need help.

Great list Christi!!
