You can poop them on the potty even before they are sitting up alone. When Kirsten gets that look on her face like she's going to poop, I say "stop, let's go to the potty," get her clothes off as fast as I can and sit her on her Baby Bjorn little potty. I even did this with her when she was teeny, I just sat on the floor with my legs around the seat and her back to my belly- my arms around her so we could look at a book or a toy while she went. Now she knows what she's sitting there for and poops as soon as I sit her down. I take her into the BR with me when I go and we pee together too. EC sounds kind of off the wall, but it isn't as hard or weird as some people think it is.
