We skipped terrible two's right into TEMPER TANTRUM 3!

Somehow we got blessed and skipped the terrible twos. And now, we're paying for it. Sometimes he's so loving and other times he just has fits and rages that seem to last forever. Currently he's screaming at me about wanting to take a bath at 5pm and I'm trying to put the finishing touches on dinner. Ugh. Its like this everyday. Its a bath, or a TV show, or me not wanting him to go wash his hands alone, or something.

haven't you ever heard that 3 is way worse than 2? lol

Alot of people skip that "terrible twos" thing and when they hit 3, they think, oh the two's is all i had to worry about..

No no no. lol

I'm still waiting for my DD to get over those 3's. she's 5.5 now. lol

Re: We skipped terrible two's right into TEMPER TANTRUM 3!

I don't think it is about an age at all. It really depends on the personality of the child and when they want to start exerting independence, how strong or stubborn they are and how capable they are of controlling emotions. My now two year old is doing really well compared to last year. She is very smart and independent for her age and hit all those tantrum, etc. issues very early on. It may flair up again but we haven't had a full on tantrum here for months (knock on wood). I have other daycare kids that don't hit it until much later, it just hasn't occurred to them to fight about certain things. And then there are the rare few that are just easy kids.

Three was WAY worse than 2 with dd. At 2 everything was still new and she was so full of awe. At 3 it was all ODW (Own Damn Way, as some parent friends called it); she knew exactly how everything should go and was truly irate when it did not work out just that way.

DS2 was pretty good in the 2s then almost as SOON as he hit 3 (Feb 16) he was a MONSTER, talking back, being mean, refusing to eat. Haha! Not fun

Oh yeah, all these experienced mamas were playing a cruel joke on us to make us wrongly assume that it was terrible twos and then devine bliss thereafter DS was a doll baby the whole year of being 2, but it's like he morphed into an evil spawn on his third birthday. & now I hear that the 4's aren't any better.

But I digress.. I love him to pieces.
