Need help choosing a carrier
I have a moby and slings, but these aren't helping me with my ever wanting to be help child 6 mo old. I would like a hip carrier or front carrier. Any reviews or suggestions? I want something comfortable to wear, she likes to face outward or at least see things, and I want to get things done. She is at the age where she grabs everything. Is there something where she can still see out but not be directly in front of me grabbing everything? The moby is nice but my arms are shorter and can't get much done when wearing it, because she is "helping" me!! Thanks for any suggestions. I wasn't sure where to post this one.
Thanks! |

Ergo!
At $100, it might seem pricey, but it's worth it!

Re: Need help choosing a carrier
The issue is you cant forward face with an Ergo, which OP wanted or I would so have suggested one! I love ours.
Honestly I would try a back carry with Moby, I think all front carriers, will be hard for you to reach around, since the child takes up all your chest space, no matter what the style. I have shorter arms so can so understand. Or maybe try a carrier that hip carries, though your LO might still be too small for pouches on the hip. But the Ergo does back and hip carry, so still might be something to look at.

Re: Need help choosing a carrier
Can I ask at what age do you start hip carrying with a ring sling? I am so interested in that.

Re: Need help choosing a carrier
My suggestion, find a Mei tai (you can get them pretty cheep on fsot boards) and learn a back carry. My DD is a hold me baby, always was. I started putting her on my back about 5 months, and at 14mo she still loves it. When she is having a day (often) I grab one of our carriers and she says "back", up she goes and off we go to working. You can use an ergo in a back carry as well. IMO you are not going to find anything that is forward facing and comfortable for you. And honestly, once they are up on your back you almost can forget about them. It does take some practice to get them there. Look on youtube for videos, or find a babywearing group near you. Good luck.

Re: Need help choosing a carrier
I just got a Boba and DS and I both love it!! You could do a back carry with it and she'd have more trouble helping you.
It's organic cotton, made by a very sustainable, conscious company. It's comfy, too!
