Re: ~$5 Meal Ideas~
Not sure if I have seen this on here yet:
I usually can get chicken enchiladas, chicken fettuccine alfredo, and chicken quesadillas out of one boiled chicken. I just boil it for a couple hours in water till cooked, chill, cut up/shred chicken for meals. Freeze till ready to use. Beef or Chicken Enchilades 1 large can of enchilada sauce 6-8 tortillas cut up chicken (usually left over from boiling a chicken) or 1 pound hamburger - both need to be cooked 2 C cheese Mix cooked meat, 1/2 can of enchilada, and most of cheese together. Spoon into tortillas, roll up. Place in 9X13 pan. Pour rest of enchilada sauce over rolled up tortillas, sprinkle with cheese. Cook at 375 till all cheese is melted and meat is warmed up (about 30 minutes). Refried beans and sour cream are great with this for toppings. BBQ Pork - easy way # of pork chops that feed your family crockpot BBQ sauce (whatever brand/flavor you like) Just layer pork chops into crockpot, pour BBQ sauce over, make sure all are thoroughly covered - cook low for all day or high for half a day. Usually served with a bag of frozen veggies and some cheap dinner rolls. If you get your pork chops in bulk and repackage in family serving size I found this to be very cheap for us - course there is just three of us.

Re: ~$5 Meal Ideas~
I've always been a meat, veggie and startch kinda cooker - so these have helped me alot to make things faster + DH is so not picky - it's nice.
Ok - so for a meat, veggie and starch kinda meal - here ya go - you can pick your sides tho We have a roaster now, but if you don't have one use your crock pot whole chicken seasonings of your choice crock pot tin foil roll three balls of tin foil about as big as your fist - place them in the crock pot - clean chicken and put it breasts up on top of the foil - sprinkle the seasonings of your choice on top - cook on low for 6-8 hours - and that's it. The foil acts as a raise to keep the grease from the chicken. Do not add any water or juices to it - trust me it makes a ton of it's own.
