Re: Need help - Constipated 3yo

We deal with this all the time.. DS has never been as "regular" as now..lol....Deffinately NO CHEESE, back off the milk some, I give DS the multi fiber/grain Cheerios everyday that are lightly sweetened, Juice anything that starts with a P, I use Little tummies laxative, but always first try a small dose of stool softner. If the softner doesn't work then I go infant laxative.... these two things in combo when in desperate need were recommended by our pharmacist. I try to avoid any mecidcinal help, but if need be.. there it is. If you get desperate, I put a table spoon of Prune juice in his milk and he doesn't usually notice it. I think I am going to give the fibersure a test.. Thanks for the talk here.

Try to avoid bananas for a while too. Give grapes, raisins, prunes or prune juice. I have even found that grape juice helps some, but not as much as prune juice. Make sure he is drinking plenty, always make sure he has something available to drink. I use flaxseed as well, I put it in my yogurt or cereal, mixed into baked goods.

We have an on-going battle with this here.

We take Addy to the chiroprator and this has truely helped a ton. I noticed a major difference.

Try to push water. Water is very very good.

We use flax seed oil. Flax seed is good too but ground it up.

We give him acidopholis tablets twice a day. It also comes in powder form.

We cut out lactose.

Corn, popcorn, grapes, seem to help as well.

Again..the chiro is my #1 suggestion
