How many Flip covers and inserts do you think?

How many flip covers and inserts do you think i will need for my 20 month old ds and newbie coming in June?

I will be EBF'ing so i suspect I will be changing covers with my newbie frequently.

I currently only do diaper laundry every 3-4 days but am using primarily fitteds, prefolds, covers and some pockets. Of course that is only for one child and he doesn't go potty as often anymore.

I thought it would be a pretty high number May have to use trifolded prefolds with a microfleece liner Or start making my own inserts like now

Honestly,my fav inserts for Flips are pad folded osocozy flats. They would be trim enough for a little baby, but still absorbent. And they would be super trim on your older kiddo

I think you would need more than 40 to just use flips, if washing every 3-4 days. I changed my NB about 15 times a day for the first months she still gets changed about 10. We got poo on the cover at least every other change.

I snappie my OC flips, it’s the only way I use that insert.

:wave2:

I will soon have two in cloth. We have many pockets, prefolds/covers for the 1 year old. I also have some prefolds/covers for the soon to be baby.

On top of that I have 10 Flip covers, 6 organic inserts, and 24 stay-dry inserts.

I am hoping that this will be enough. I have a feeling that with two in diapers, we will not last 3-4 days without washing (like we do now)!

Oh yeah, I have also been making fleece liners and more wipes.

Re: How many Flip covers and inserts do you think?

For 2 kids, I would definitely say at least 10 covers and 50 inserts, but more will be easier. For DD I changed a poopy diaper 12x/day for the 1st month, and now at 3 months I'm going through about 6 covers and 18 inserts every 3 days.

Re: How many Flip covers and inserts do you think?

Well my first day pack of flips is arriving tomorrow my plan is to buy another daypack everytime the paypal tree is in bloom

I will have to experiment with the prefolds when my day pack comes. I already have 1 dozen preemie prefolds, 1 dozen newborn prefolds, 2 dozen infant prefolds, and 3 dozen premium prefolds so i would like to see if i can get any of those to work before buying flats. I also have a yard of MF terry sitting on the sewing shelf next to 1 yard of Micro Fleece and suedecloth so i know I could fire up the serger.

I wonder how soon my ds will PL. My dd was completely out of diaper by her second birthday. Even overnight. I heard it is a longer and harder process with boys though

I would love to have both kids in the same system and only have one kind of diaper laundry. It was fun building a stash for them both but now I feel like the house is overrun with cds. We have pockets, fitteds, covers, prefolds, wool etc. Everything in so many different sizes!!
