food safe fabrics to use for reusable sandwich bags?

I know pul isn't food approved but there are lots of other fabrics that I've seen used that I'm wondering about. cheesecloth? water proof nylon? acrylic coated cotton? PVC free laminated cotton?

Also, which ones *that are food safe of course* are good at keeping sandwiches soft?

I saw a toot (not on DS) using 2 gallon freezer bags as the liner. The link is on my other computer, I'll post it shortly...

A seller on The Apple Orchard uses FDA approved food safe nylon. I'm pretty sure that is what it is called.

waxed fabric works well, from what I hear. I haven't tried it yet though.

Do you know where this nylon can be purchased?

You could just do two layers of PUL, shinny sides together, so none of the poly is exposed.... or am I wrong? I've never made sandwish bags hehehe. I just think using freezer bags would defeat the purpose.... Isn't that why you make resuable bags? To avoid plastic? Well, I guess to reuse also, vs. disposing. I just wouldn't want to use plastic freezer bags
