Putting dipes in the dryer...

Will it wreck your diapers to put them in the dryer? I mean I know you need to once in awhile to seal the pul, but if you end up doing it more than once in awhile, would that cause issues?

It seems when we put them in the dryer they are *so* much softer than when we hang them to dry...

Re: Putting dipes in the dryer...

I used to always dry them and didn't notice anything bad, but then I heard you weren't supposed to, so I stopped... Now I do every once in a while and if I'm feeling particularly rebellious that day. Mine are stiffer if I hang them to dry, too, so I end up tossing them in the dryer with towels or something on fluff for a few minutes. Only when I have towels right after they're dry, tho. Otherwise it just gets to complicated. I've yet to tell any difference in the dipes I put through the dryer so many times way back when and the ones I've been good with, but I figure I might as well not chance it. much.

Re: Putting dipes in the dryer...

The only diapering materials that shouldn't be dried on warm/hot heats are nylon and wool.

PUL, cotton, hemp, etc are just fine on hot heats.

We use medium heat for everything, and I dry all our diapers. We have mostly fitteds, but have four SB AIOs, and they go in with the rest of the diapers every time.

Thank you mamas! I know someone mentioned to me before to put pockets with pul in the dryer once in awhile, but they didn't say how often... and really I don't like how our diapers feel when they are hung up!

Re: Putting dipes in the dryer...

We put everything on high and i am waiting to see if they get messed up. I heard that if you put a towel in with the diapers that it helps it dry quicker. So we tried and it works. So that is what we have been doing the last couple of times. crossing our fingers hoping that high heat is okay
