Question Prefolds: Bleached or Unbleached, which is better?

I want to get some prefolds and now I need to decide if I want to get bleached or unbleached. Is one or the other "better" than the other? What are the advantages and disadvantages? What do you prefer? Thanks for your help!

I use the unbleached just bc I like the natural look...I am sure that isn't much help, lol.

I like unbleached because it feels softer and doesnt get stained as much as the bleached. Maybe the white color of bleached makes the stains too obvious

Unbleached is usually softer.

Unbleached is more absorbent. The bleaching takes away some of the absorbency. Don't know about you, but I need ALL the absorbency I can get!

Re: Prefolds: Bleached or Unbleached, which is better?

I have both. And I like both. I don't think one is really better than the other as far as function goes if you are buying a quality brand. Mostly personal preference. I do think my unbleached are a tad softer and more absorbent than my bleached, but I could be imagining it the difference is so slight. Bigger differences might show up between brands, organic/ non-organic cotton or things like environmental impact. Depends how far you want to go in the decision making process. If you want to know my vote, I guess it would be unbleached, although a crisp white nappy with a pretty coloured trim thread toddling by could easily sway me.

I prefer unbleached for the natural look and the stains don't look as bright to me as they do on bleached ones
