Re: wool
I usually wash when it doesn't feel as soft, or if I notice that it seems dirty. I have a crawling baby who is a messy eater, so our wool actually gets dirty. It's usually every few weeks, it depends on how much we use it.
I do lanolize every time, but I don't use much lanolin. It makes it feel softer, and I always worry about it losing it's waterproofness.

Re: wool
Right now I lanolize once a month, and wash once a week.

Re: wool
i don't have a regular schedule for washing/lanolizing, but i always lanolize when i do wash. i've never had a leaking wool problem. normally i wash when it gets dirty - we wear them outside, etc. so that's usually a motivator or when it occurs to me it's been awhile since i washed last. it probably works out to between 3-6 weeks. some wool isn't in as heavy a rotation for us so it gets washed less frequently.
