Re: Nighttime solution for a heavy wetter

this was our problem for the past 2 years. I just got a wool cover (our first wool experience) for both my 3 mos old and my 24 mos old and love it! I bought Kissa's Wool Lover in medium and large for them. For my little guy, I put him in a MotherEase one-size fitted diaper with a Flip stay-dry insert next to his skin with the wool soaker over it all. My dd wears her wool soaker over her super-stuffed fuzzibunz, and it is working like a charm so far! I can't believe that I haven't used a sposie for bedtime this week...the first time in nearly 2 years with dd.
I found our Kissa's covers from www.diaperjunction.com

We use a M FB's double stuffed with a hemp insert and a MF insert. Always dry!

Re: Nighttime solution for a heavy wetter

We also like to layer different kinds of inserts in pockets.. This helps because one insert might absorb wetness quickly, while the other will absorb slower. We currently use a microfiber insert with a dollar store microfiber towel underneath. I think that the microfiber towel soaks up the moisture from the larger insert to help keep it away from the top. You can buy many different sizes of microfiber towels depending on where you look, so you can experiment. They are super cheap too!

Like the above poster, i've heard lots of people use hemp and microfiber pretty successfully as well.

Try adding a wool cover if you find you don't quite have enough absorbancy with inserts. But yes hemp, mf and bamboo fleece are all really absorbant.
