<3's her hubby! finally took care of MIL!

BRAG! MIL is always mad about how we "get our ideas from that dumb computer" instead of listening to her about how to parent. We've had other issues in the past, but our most current issue is solids. She thought he needed food when he was only 1 month old. She snuck food to him behind our backs even though she knew we wanted to wait until he was 6 months old. He is over 6 months now, so we started some solids, but she STILL finds things to tell us how we're doing it all wrong. He finally told her that he's OUR baby and she really needs to back off. She had her turn, now it is ours. She's holding a grudge now, and still has to make little comments like "He's not my baby" (in a tone that is mocking what he told her) when she wants to tell us how to raise him.. THAT is still annoying, but now she's at least stopped forcing her parenting styles on us!!!

wow! solids for a 1 month old? she's gotta be related to my MIL..... who suggested we give sarah a "shrimp to suck on" when she was 6 WEEKS old.

Good for your hubby for putting his foot down, its his mother he needs to deal with it.

Yea! Good for you DH and tell him he's our hero. Not nearly enough partners deal with their side of the family properly, from what I read here.

Scary!!! I am truly blessed that my MIL is across the country. I am already dreading visiting, who knows what she's gonna do.

LOL! This is a daily battle for us, there is not enough room or time to VENT here

She moved across the country to be near her grandchildren (her only reason to live...). We see her almost daily and "we" have contrasting personalities and parenting styles

I take her criticisms too seriously and am usually hurt by her comments. Just taking it one day at a time, her son turned out all right after all...

LOL. makes me glad my FIL divorced my MIL. She was a handful! She fed my first born beans and tortillas when she was 2 months old. I am not kidding. I walked in to pick up my DD (she was babysitting for me while I ran some errands..first and last time. LOL) and there she was..propped up on her lap..sucking on a tortilla. I was like OMG what the heck? She was like...oh she needed something to go with the beans she ate. ???????????????????????????? yeah...she also tried to give her a chicken bone to suck on...um no thanks. I could go on and on but I just dont have time right now! Good for your DH though!!!
