bottle recommendations??

I was wondering if any of you had recommendations for bottles to use with babies who are primarily breastfed. I am pregnant now and I plan on primarily nursing but working part-time and I am trying to decide on a bottle to register for. I heard that the LLL recommends one but I can't find which one they recommend. Thanks!

They recommend the Avent. My daughter wont take one of those though! She will only take the Gerber comfort hold If you wanna try the Avent, I hve some I'll sell ya cheap. I know they work for lot of babies.

My son takes the platex nursers but really it boils down to what the baby likes. If you want to register I would suggest getting a single of different kinds.

We use Playtex too. That's all I bought and DD takes them. That's all I used for DS too. (He was just FF though.) The only problem I have is that she only takes 3 1/2 ounces in each bottle and I have a ton of 8 ounce bottles! I have never even touched them and DD is almost 9 months old.

I used avent for my DD, it was the only one she would take, but there is another bottle that I was going to try next that is an entirely soft bottle completely shaped like a breast, I bet that is the ultimate BFing bottle.

My ds went through them all, but finally decided he likes the Playtex Ventaire with the small nipple. I think every baby is different. If you would like to try some different bottles let me know. I have playtex nursers, avent, and the breastflow bottle.

I have tried them all, even the one shaped like a boob (which DH thinks is a hoot)...and he won't take any of them.

Re: bottle recommendations??

Most babies do best with the wider mouth bottles like advent or dr browns. We use dr browns and love them. A note about advent bottles, they can leak and many people have had the problem with them.

However as already mentioned some babies are very picky and then you go through about a gazillion bottles looking for one. You'll never know if you're baby will be like that- it probably would be best to get the singles of different kinds.
