Re: Has your circ'd son had any complications, major or minor?

You don't consider adhesions a complication? Just curious, why not? I think anything that doesn't heal properly and needs attention later (medical or not) constitutes an aberration from normal healing, which would make it a complication.

No. No complications. Both circs were done by a mohel.

Re: Has your circ'd son had any complications, major or minor?

My DS isn't circumcised and this won't necessarily help with your poll, but I posted a related thread not too long ago that got a lot of responses, and some of the posters gave information about complications (or a lack thereof). I just wanted to include the link in case you or anyone else was interested in reading it.

Re: Has your circ'd son had any complications, major or minor?

I promise I'm not trying to be critical, but I would suggest that adhesions might very well be a complication. It might not cause *you* any problems taking care of him when he is small, but as he grows, it can trap smegma underneath, causing infections, can cause painful erections, and might need to be surgically corrected later on. It is not a "normal" outcome of a properly done circumcision. If your son does have adhesions, it might be something you will want to discuss with him as he grows older so that he can get medical attention for it in case it does cause him problems. For example, it sounds like StringBean02's DH might be having this exact problem...

No problems here. My ped did comment at his one week appt. that whoever performed it (my OB) did an excellent job. I only have one ds, so none to compare to, but have heard a lot of it depends on the skill of the doc performing it.

Re: Has your circ'd son had any complications, major or minor?

All 3 of my boys are circ'd. They are 4, 3 an 15 months. None of them have had any complications what so ever.

I am sorry to hear about YOUR DS.
