Mamas with boys with long hair... Or even girls for that matter!

We are trying to grow my 17m old son's hair out. He's never had a hair cut, and both DH (who had long hair for about 15yrs) and I love how long hair looks on little boys. However, what on earth am I suppose to do with his bangs in the process?!

We're planning on growing my daughter's hair out too (we have twins), but her hair is so much shorter than his that we haven't gotten to this point with her. And, I'm guessing that with girls you can just clip it back??

We've been parting his hair on the side and giving him a comb-over look. But, honestly, his hair just won't stay like that!

Any ideas would be great!

Thanks in advance!

Here are a few pictures (from my blog) of his hair now:

I would either see if he will wear a baseball cap and or a head rag to keep it out of his face. I have a 17 year old with really really long hair and of course now he puts it in pony tail. He wore a headrag/bandana in the akward phase.

We just always pushed it over. It would fall back into his eyes, but there's not much you can do unless you want to trim them. Will he wear hats? That's an easy way to keep it out of his eyes.

We don't vaccinate, we kept our sons intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.

We just brushed it over to the side after his bath and sort of trained it to go to the side. Of course it would still all in his face, so he quickly learned how to just push it out of his way. =)

Okay. Sounds like this is normal then. Haha. He looks completely adorable in a bandana, so I think that I'll try doing that some more. He's not huge on hats in general, but he seems to like the bandanas.

Anyone else?

My son has longer curly hair. It's down to his shoulders when wet but just under his ears when dry. His bangs hang down to his nose and he just pushes them out of his face. They learn quick enough to push them out of the way.

My boys just pushed it out of the way or chose to look like sheepdogs.

Re: Mamas with boys with long hair... Or even girls for that matter!

Good question! I posted the "How long is too long..." thread and my older son always had hair just above his eyes and we let the back grow longer. Our younger son is at that stage now too and I don't know if we let the front go longer or do like we did with big brother.

Jason:

He doesn't like hats, so we'd probably just try the bandana thing or let him push it to the side & around his ears like I do with mine(once it gets that long!). His grows fast like mommy's, so I bet it will be a short phase tho. Our hair grows an inch a month, whereas my older son's hair grows 2" a year! How different can two kids be really??? Lol!

I'm dealing with this too. My DS is 8 months old but has hair that about hangs down to his nose in front. Most of the time I just brush it over to the side or it just hangs over his eyes. It doesn't really seem to bother him. On occasion I have stuck it up in a ponytail on the top of his head Kinda looks like a paintbrush sticking up! I like the bandana idea. I think I might have to give that a try...Oh, and my DD keeps trying to put clips in it!

I'd post a picture of my little man, but we just reformatted our computer and our pictures aren't loaded back on yet.
