Diaper Swappers

I'm 7 months preggo (due June 27th) with baby #3 and am supposed to be taking it easy, so of course b/c I'm new to cd'ing and have discovered this site, I'm sitting here perusing all of these threads, etc. I am seeing all of these cute diapers for newborns and wool items (which I know not a whole lot about) and so on and so forth. It's making me so sad

b/c I want them so bad, but they're so expensive! Right now I just have BG 3.0's, FB OS and some prefolds with a Thirsties Duo cover for my DS (pretty much all of it has been bought on FSOT). I am still debating on doing CD'ing in the first 2 months with this babe (I think I'll do some prefolds and covers for him and some sposies), but I sooooooo wish that I could get him some of this cute stuff I'm seeing. Seriously, I'm

over a lot of it. Seeing all of this cute stuff on other babies is driving me batty! I wish we had the money.

Okay... I'm done. Had to get that off my chest! Am I the only one that feels this way?!

I totally understand where you're coming from! I had to really keep myself from not buying a bunch of cute newborn fitteds, but you know, prefolds can be supercute too!!

ETA: I did splurge on some cute stuff in larger sizes, my daughters were in larges from 6 months on (which is early), so they have worn the cute/expensive diapers for 1.5-2 years

You can actually find a lot of great deals on FSOT or Spot's. Keep browsing, Mama. I've found several beautiful longies for less than $30 a pair.

i love my prefolds on my DD. i like it better actually than the fitted that i bought(mutts and GM's) They just don't fit her that nicely and i am not that impressed with them. Right now i have sposies on her(she's got nasty poops for the last couple days.. sicky) so ill be glad when she's not so sick that i can put my prefolds on her. you can get embellished prefolds. and they aren't that hard to make either

so that way they are cute as well. you can also get the thirsties duo prints now. those are cute but sadly only come in a few boy and a few girl colors.

but they are still super cute. i got the blackbird one and love it but not sure how it's fittin on my DD.(she's a super chunk)

I was like that for a while, but I'm quite happy with prefolds (mostly gotten used here or in trade here), a few covers (used here), and I learned how to knit to make my own woolies with inexpensive wool yarn

My ds grew out of ALL of his nb diapers in 3 weeks and he is not a big baby at all!

Save the money. If you get something get the bigger size.

I got every single one of DD's newbie dipes on FSOT or on Spots. She was done with them by one month

Really, the best way to get all the super cute stuff is to learn how to sew/knit/crochet

Oh goodness. Now I need to learn how to sew and knit. I can crochet a little, but only blankets. I'm not that good at it!
