How do you handle poop when out and about?
Ok mamas. I came across this scenario yesterday for the first time. My son has recently started solids and has the smelly smeary green poop that definitely isn't solid yet but still must be rinsed off.
I was at the park with him, and we were laying on a blanket, I went to change his diaper and it wasn't just wet, so I picked him up and took him and our diaper bag to the bathroom. They had a nice facilty with a changing table and everything, but once I took off the poopy diaper and had my little guy laying there on the table, I didn't quite know what to do. I put the dipe in my wetbag and cleaned him up. I didn't think I'd be able to handle rinsing his diaper in a bathroom stall toilet while holding him at the same time without making a mess of both of us!! So I had to take it home like that and deal with it later. How do you usually handle poop when you're in public assuming you have no other woman friend along to hold your child while you rinse the dipe?

I wrap it all up into itself, insert, wipe and all, then snap the wing tabs into each other to contain it and keep it from getting poo on everything else in the wetbag. Rinse in cold when we get home. Hang is sun to remove stains.

Maybe I ought to invest in some fitteds for going out.

Re: How do you handle poop when out and about?
Maybe using a flushable liner? I just ordered some to try, so I don't know yet. But that's all I could think of pairing with our PFs

Yes to the flushable liner. Imse Vimse is great. Oh and if I am caught w/o a liner I just fold up and place in wet bag. I deal with it later...no fun but better than at a public facility!

I was going to say flushable liners or maybe a fleece liner than you can just toss in a baggie and deal w/ at home if you'd prefer something that's re-usable. We use pockets, mostly, some fitteds - and I just fold it all up and put it in the wetbag and deal with it as soon as we get home.

Re: How do you handle poop when out and about?
I got a pack of 75 bio-degradable bags for throwing diapers away- also the ones for doggie poop that comes on a roll - I have one of either of those to put the super-stinkers in before I put them in the wetbag.... I don't see why that wouldn't work for pre-folds! BTW- I've had them since DD was born and have used 1 package and am not even half thru the doggie bag ones... so though it feels like "ugh i'm using a plastic bag" it's actually not so bad..... but there's NO WAY i'd ever be putting my hands in a public toilet- no matter how much soap is available in the bathroom!

I just wrap mine up in a plastic bag and deal with them when I get home. Luckily we are past the peanut butter poo phase.

For a prefold, maybe you could tuck a gallon size ziploc bag into your diaper bag in case of a poopy diaper to contain the poop & the smell??

I have pre-folds, fitteds, and pockets. I just wrap it all up and put it in a small wetbag. Once I get home I rinse the poo off and wash.
